Ângelo Ferreira Sousa + Carla Cruz, Arlindo Silva, Isabel Carvalho, João Marçal, Marco Mendes, Mauro Cerqueira, Renato Ferrão and Tânia Bandeira Duarte were invited to send a work and a dossier to Spike Island.
During the seven weeks of the show this pieces will become part of the display which will have to be redenined at every moment. Marie-Anne McQuay, curator at Spike Island, will be responsible for the transformation of the show creating new connections between the different pieces. Two shows will come across in the same space underlining a dilution of the artist’s identity. This “losing control” on the exhibition as form and territory is also a strategy of engagement between two communities. “2nd Layer ” is part of XYZLAND. In the end of the show more images will be posted showing the transformation of the exhibition’s display.

Ângelo Ferreira Sousa + Carla Cruz, Arlindo Silva, Isabel Carvalho, João Marçal, Marco Mendes, Mauro Cerqueira, Renato Ferrão e Tânia Bandeira Duarte foram convidados por André Sousa a enviar um trabalho e um dossier para a Spike Island.
Durante as sete semanas de duração da exposição estas obras serão integradas na exposição redefenindo-a a cada momento. Marie-Anne McQuay, comissária na Spike Island, será responsável pela transformação da exposição criando novas ligações entre as várias peças. Cruzam-se duas exposições no mesmo espaço e acentua-se uma diluição do autor. Esta “perda de controlo” sobre a exposição enquanto território e forma é também uma forma de provocar um maior comprometimento entre duas comunidades diferentes.
“Segunda camada” é parte da XYZLAND. No final da exposição serão apresentadas novas imagens da exposição.
